Biological Research

We attended a 7th birthday party of my MIL's officemate's daughter Giana which was held at Biological Research along Sucat Road. The food was sumptuous and Andy loved the pasta, he also enjoyed the magic tricks but was kind of scared with the assistant clown. He called him "mumu." But anyway, he was shouting with glee when he saw a bird coming out from the magician's hat. The safari-themed party was decorated with lots of balloons and tons of candies and lollipops which also served as their centerpiece. I was busy feeding Andy that I failed to take photos of them. My bad.

We also had a chance to tour the whole park, it costs 150 bucks per head but because we attended the party, we had it for free! There were monkeys, different breeds of birds and chicken, ducks, snakes, butterflies, bees, insects, turtles and fish. Andy enjoyed it the most. He often wanted to be carried when we have walks like this, but this time he ran around and even left us at the end of the line, looking out for him. But he also wants his pictures taken that's why when I tell him "picture" he'd stop and say "cheese!"

He was very happy, full and tired. My Andy had a truly wonderful time with this outdoor activity. He even took home 2 small fish in a small tank for a souvenir! He named them Thomas and Henry. I would love to take him to different zoos around the world someday, he will definitely appreciate the ecology's flora and fauna. God's wonderful works of creation.

Justice!

Thank God, we have successfully launched Mommy Lolit's 60th surprise birthday. It's amazing that she hasn't smelled a thing that we have cooked for her. This was originally masterminded by Ate Bibe my sister-in-law from Australia, who called from time to time for updates. Mommy Lolit was really suprised the most when she saw her boss and her officemates coming, who actually came from Manila and told her that they can't make it. She expects a small gathering but not a big party with a live band and a catered buffet with balloons and the likes. Her friends, classmates, cousins and some relatives joined us that night. Though drizzles of blessings poured from the sky every now and then, still we made it through. We started the program with a prayer, and then chains of messages of greetings and love given by her children, brothers and sisters, her friends and colleagues, and her family in Australia. Everybody enjoyed the AVP that I made for her, which is undeniably my labor of love for my mother in law. The guests saw their old kept photos and they can't help but laugh at the funny trends several decades ago.
We expected Mommy Lolit to cry but because she is a woman of composure... she was able to control her emotion, she gave a long message of thanks instead with wit and humor for the finale.
Tha party was a success and I'm very pleased with that. It gave justice to what we've been preparing and working on for almost 2 months. Thanks Tito Marcel and Tita Weidy for your time and for lending us your beautiful space, thanks to
Mheng, Kay and Joseph for the technical assistance, thanks to Metrotech for giving us the best package on LCD and projector screen, thanks to Tito Teddy for the cake and to the caterer (the food was so yummy especially the fish fillet) and to Tito Gil's band. Special thanks to Tita Ellie and Tito Mel for the lechon. Thanks to everyone for coming and for sharing this memorable event with us! Happy birthday Mommy Lolit!

Now let me share you some of photos last night.. Enjoy!

Happy 60th Surprise Birthday

A week from now my mother in law will be turning 60. We've been preparing a surprise birthday party for her since last month. Its funny because she was in "tampo mode" lately. She thinks that no one cares or even remembered that her 60th birthday is coming. If she only knew. I just hope that we can keep this secret until the actual day comes. Shhh....

I printed the invitations and they've been given away to some relatives, her friends and officemates already. I had to come up with a short but dedicative program by Wednesday for them to check. My husband's cousin and I were appointed to be the hosts.. thanks for some sites which I got most of the ideas from. It's going to be a Retro Party: Bringing Back the Fabulous 60's theme and we asked the guests to come dressed in their best retro outfit. I prepared 20 pieces of CD's and 10 DVD's of Hairspray and its soundtrack for the giveaways and prizes. We will give awards for the 1st 5 guests to come, 5 prizes for the guests in outfit, boxes of chocolates for the game winners.

We also booked the projector rental service because I created her an audio-visual presentation. It will be the highlight of the program, everyone will see her old kept pictures.

Mommy Lolit is the most hardworking person I knew. We hardly see her at home and at her age, its amazing how she can keep up with her work schedule. Mommy deserves the best party her children could ever give. I just wish she still doesn't have a nose to everything that we re planning for her. There will be a live band that she loves, and the selection of her favorite dish. Her childhood friends and highschool classmates, her family and significant people in her life will all be there.

Enjoy your party Mommy, you deserve all the happiness and blessings life can offer. Thank you for accepting me in the family. I'm very lucky to have you as a mother in law. Happy birthday!
